Davis Hartwell survived a 13-player playoff Wednesday morning to advance to the round of 64 at the U.S. Junior Amateur.

Hartwell, a junior-to-be at Crosspoint Christian in Klamath Falls, shot a 4-over 144 Tuesday to finish in a 13-way tie for 56th place among 264 competitors after two rounds of stroke play at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Township, Mich.
