Commentary: Keeping the Klamath Promise alive

It has been a little over 10 years since the Klamath Falls community pulled together to assist with raising high school graduation rates in the basin and increasing the level of academically prepared students at Klamath Community College, giving them a leg up in furthering their education.

I am a firm believer in post-secondary education. When I speak with students, I tell them that without a college degree or certificate in the trades, one’s job options are highly limited. It is through education that one breaks the cycle of poverty and creates opportunities for themselves and their families.
